Again, please check here often.
When choosing a horse, please list your Top Three Choices. If you choose only one, you may not be ready or I may not think you will work well with that horse. Please choose at least three. First choice first. More than one person may ride the horse. Be aware of that.
Barn Name: Bell
Show Name: Diving Bell
Breed: Cob x Clydesdale
Age: 18
Color: Black
Markings: White blaze, white canon rear left, white sock rear right
Height: 16.2hh
Personality: Bell is a mischief maker. Though generally incredibly lazy and plodding, and at first sight a good horse for beginners, he likes to do things his own way. If he doesn’t want to trot, well, you aren’t trotting unless you’ve really got a firm leg. And if he thinks a jump is too high for you, or for him, or for today, or for this weather, then by jingo there’s no way on Earth you’ll get him to jump it. Despite that, he has fantastic ground manners, and is generally a very sweet horse.
Gender: Gelding
Discipline/s: English, Beginner Showjumping, Beginner Western
Stall: 27
Barn Name: Mary
Show Name: Bloody Mary
Breed: TB
Age: 10
Color: Blood bay
Markings: White stockings on all four legs, ermine spots on rear right
Height: 15.2hh
Personality: Unlike her name, Mary is possibly the gentlest horse you could ever meet – but also one of the most sensitive. Not spooky, but extremely aware of what her rider is doing, and a frightened or unconfident rider is likely to be bucked off. With a firm leg and a confident seat, however, she’s a delight to ride, and she clearly delights in being ridden well. She’s a fine jumper, and seems to enjoy cross country, but dressage is where she excels.
Gender: Mare
Discipline/s: Intermediate SJ, Beginner XC, Advanced Dressage
Stall: 18
Barn Name: Apple
Show Name: Apple of My Eye
Breed: Dutch Warmblood
Age: 9
Color: Dark grey, with dapples on shoulders, rump, back and neck. Pale mane and tail
Markings: White socks on both front legs
Height: 16hh
Personality: A beginners horse in the extreme, Apple seems willing to put up with anything that’s thrown at her. She rarely protests when her reins are hauled on, she’s willing to put in extra half-strides before jumps if her rider hasn’t provided enough, and she knows when to stop on a trail ride if something’s wrong and her rider hasn’t noticed. She actually seems cleverer than a lot of the people who ride her, and will naturally take a perfect outline when asked to perform dressage movements. Her mouth is sensitive, however, so she’s ridden in a hackamore.
Gender: mare
Discipline/s: Beginner everything xD
Stall: 17
Barn Name: Crash
Show Name: Crash Bang Wallop
Breed: Mustang
Age: 21
Color: Piebald
Markings: Black patches over both shoulders, spot on his right side in the middle of his belly which is shaped like a kidney, rump around the tail is black extending slightly down the right flank and down to his left hock. Head is black, with a white “blaze” that extends over his right eye, giving him a wall eye Mane is white, forelock is black. Tail is black
Height: 15.1hh
Personality: Crash loves life. Despite his age, he is eager to do everything, full of vim and vigour and other things beginning with V. Nothing makes him happier than seeing barrels or poles set out in an arena, and if they’re there and you’re not doing that yet it can be tricky to keep him focussed on what you’re doing! He’s easily distracted, not just by the things he loves best but by everything. Not spooky in the slightest, he’ll just occasionally pause to snuffle at a plastic bag, or trot over to a dog to say hello or just change gait because he feels like it. Not for beginners, but certainly a fun ride. Due to his age he can no longer compete at higher level Pole Bending and Barrel Racing
Gender: Gelding
Discipline/s: Western, Intermediate Barrel Racing, Beginner Pole Bending, Trail riding
Stall: 13
Barn Name: Pie
Show Name: Strawberry Pie
Breed: QH
Age: 12
Color: Red roan
Markings: Face and legs from knees/hocks downward are dark chestnut, rest of his body is lighter x3
Height: 15.3hh
Personality: Pie, like many stallions, is a feisty type. This, however, is mainly let out in the stables. He has to be kept in a stall with a kick bolt as he’s adept at undoing the top bolt, and there are few stalls he’s been kept in where the water bucket and feeder haven’t been kicked over or placed outside. It seems that he’s working on how to undo his own girth, given that if he’s left tacked for a while before a lesson or for any other reason he’ll start nosing around under the flap, but thankfully that’s yet to actually happen. When being ridden he’s more dependable, but he is a terrible bucker if he’s bitten by a fly or his girth is pinching.
Gender: Stallion
Discipline/s: Western Pleasure, Trail Riding, English Pleasure
Stall: 8
Barn Name: Nell
Show Name: On the Diagonal
Breed: Percheron x Warmblood
Age: 5
Color: Grey (white)
Markings: Darker muzzle, darker mane and tail
Height: 16.2hh
Personality: Nell is an accident caused by a stallion boarded at the stables getting into one of the mare’s fields. You’d think she knows it, because she’s extremely shy. It’s difficult for a person she’s never met before to tack her up as she’ll continually shift away from them in her stall or at the cross ties, and it’s easy to tell the difference when she’s ridden by someone she knows. When it’s a stranger, she falters, is slow to take up leads and will often dawdle, whereas when it’s someone she’s familiar with she’s confident and more eager. It’d be safe to say that she’s never completely confident, and will refuse to jump anything bigger than 3 ft even though it’s clear she has the capability to do so, but isn’t spooky and is a fair horse as a follow up to a complete beginner’s horse.
Gender: Mare
Discipline/s: English Pleasure, Beginner Showjumping, Trail Riding
Stall: 28
Barn Name: Chief
Show Name: War Chief
Breed: Appaloosa
Age: 16
Color: Bay, blanket appaloosa. Blanket stretches to his withers
Markings: Blanket stretches to his withers, white stockings on all legs and a white race.
Height: 15.2hh
Personality: Chief is lazy. That’s the only word to really describe him. The horses are being let out to pasture in the morning? Chief needs to be hauled along the aisles to get him there. You’re taking one of the longer trail rides? Chief will stop after an hour and chew cud until he feels like carrying on. With a firm leg and a crop he’ll get moving, but boy is it a lot of work. That said, he has perfect ground manners (until you ask him to trot, when he just walks faster) and doesn’t object to girths pinching or having the wrong brush used in uncomfortable places.
Gender: Gelding
Discipline/s: Western Pleasure, English Pleasure, Trail Riding
Stall: 14
Barn Name: Mark
Show Name: Marking Midnight
Breed: Fresian
Age: 13
Color: Black
Markings: None
Height: 15hh
Personality: Mark is not a sweetheart. He has been described as such in the past, and it would be a major mistake to say that he is. He is sweet when he wants to be, and will allow less experienced riders a lot of leeway if he’s in a good mood, but if he’s in a bad mood then it’s likely he’ll start acting up by pulling in the wrong direction, turning circles when he’s not asked or simply not listening to the rider’s aids. Originally a dressage prospect, it’s clear that he’s very little use in the more advanced ring as on an off day he will fight even the most experienced of riders to the finish about what they’re doing and where they’re going. He is very spooky about birds, and as such cannot be taken for trail rides.
Gender: Gelding
Discipline/s: Intermediate Dressage, English Pleasure
Stall: 29
Barn Name: Abby
Show Name: Above and Beyond
Breed: Dutch Warmblood
Age: 5
Color: Grullo
Markings: none
Height: 17.0hh
Personality: This mare is very calm and steady around the barn, but as soon as she's in the trailer, she knows where she's going and she's ready to go! Usually winning most of the classes she's placed in, this horse is a fantastic eventer! She's easy to handle, and used for advanced lessons, but only certain people may show her. She's spooky about a few things, so not a good trail horse.
Gender: Mare
Discipline/s: Advanced Eventing
Stall: 11
Barn Name: Mentira
Show Name: Say It Isn't So
Breed: Andalusian
Age: 9
Color: Bay
Markings: Bald Face
Height: 15.2hh
Personality: Mentira is a sweet, tranquil stallion. He handles even three-year-olds perfectly, and loves attention. But it's hard to find a truly calm stallion; once you get in the arena he's a total joker. Mentira belongs to Alina Drewing, but she is offering him as a lesson horse.
Gender: Stallion
Discipline/s: Dressage, all levels
Stall: 1
Barn Name: Bud
Show Name: Budweiser
Breed: Clydesdale
Age: 13
Color: Bay
Markings: Blaze, 4 stockings
Height: 17.1
Personality: Seemingly unaware of his size, Bud gets along well with ponies fantastically. Bud is a goofy horse who is a huge baby to anything that spooks him. He's slow and plodding, and at times, unaware of where he places his feet. He makes a great trail horse, just be sure to avoid the water. If you decide to take a trail with water, you're deciding to take a trail and jump a Clydesdale. Other then his fear of water, Bud is a loving, sensitive kinda guy.
Gender: Gelding
Discipline/s: Trail Horse
Stall: 26
Barn Name: Twilight
Show Name: Twilight Zone
Breed: Quarter Horse
Age: 4
Color: Blue Roan
Markings: Blaze, LF sock
Height: 15.3
Personality: Twilight is a young gelding who's being trained for gaming. He's able to w/t/c cleanly on the rail now, and he's working on flying changes at the moment. He's a sweet boy who's willing to learn, but gets excited at times and likes to buck.
Gender: Gelding
Discipline/s: Gaming
Stall: 10
Barn Name: Flight
Show Name: Immortal Flight
Breed: Saddlebred Sporthorse
Age: 6
Color: Pinto
Markings: Tobiano, Blaze, dark hips, shoulders, face
Height: 16.2hh
Personality: Flight is a sophisticated, simple mare who's great for intermediate dressage riders. She works well with one person rather than a few different people. Once she connects, she's very willing and loves to please. She is still learning some more advanced moves, but she knows the basics and is a great horse.
Gender: Mare
Discipline/s: Dressage
Stall: 31
Barn Name: Clocker
Show Name: Beat The Clock
Breed: Quarter Horse
Age: 9
Color: Rose Grey with Dapples
Markings: LF Cannon, Snip
Height: 16.0hh
Personality: Clocker is a speed demon, and is a fantastic gaming horse. You need to keep him in check while riding him, or else he will crash into things. Be cautious while galloping on the trails because that race horse instinct will take over. Make sure he always has a strong bit in order to keep him under control. Always keep Clocker away from mares as he tends to agitate them.
Gender: Stallion
Discipline/s: Gaming
Stall: 34
Barn Name: Flash
Show Name: Back In A Flash
Breed: Appaloosa
Age: 6
Color: Silver Dun w/ Blanket
Markings: 4 stockings, blaze
Height: 15.1
Personality: Flash is fantastic for people who are new to the gaming world. He stops on a dime, so he is perfect for flag races and other games where you must stop quickly. However, he takes very wide turns, which slows his time a little. At only six years old he is very well mannered, although he does enjoy playing with brushes and other grooming supplies while in the stall. Flash is best friends with Catch, and they make a great pair for team games.
Gender: Gelding
Discipline/s: Gaming
Stall: 33
Barn Name: Zippie
Show Name: Look At Me Go
Breed: Paint
Age: 17
Color: Piebald (black and white) Sabino
Markings: Star, Race, 4 Stockings
Height: 16.3
Personality: At seventeen, Zippie is still as fast as most of the youngsters. His high speed and limited brakes make him a horse for advanced riders only. He has been through the patterns so many times that he knows them by heart, so he is a point and shoot type of guy. Zippie feels that he has ‘claims’ to Abby and Chacha, so avoid putting them out with geldings or stallions. He is a tad moody, which makes him difficult in team games.
Gender: Stallion
Discipline/s: Gaming
Stall: 36
Barn Name: Catch
Show Name: Catch Me If You Can
Breed: Quarter Horse
Age: 12
Color: Bay
Markings: Star
Height: 15.2
Personality: Despite his name, Catch is very slow and only puts his rump into gear when he is doing a team game with Flash. He can rocket to a start, but his pace slows as time goes on. Even at twelve he already has arthritis, which often leaves him sore and lame. Always lunge him before riding to check for stiffness or awkward movement in his hind end, and always be sure to give him his joint supplements at feeding time. If you can get him to move, Catch is one of the best team gaming horses you will ever meet.
Gender: Gelding
Discipline/s: Gaming
Stall: 32
Barn Name: Sailor
Show Name: Sail Above the Stars
Breed: Belgian Warmblood
Age: 14
Color: Brown
Markings: Star, Stripe
Height: 16.2hh
Personality: Sailor is one of the most elite horses at the barn. He has competed at the Grand Prix level, and has the finest form over jumps. He stays calm throughout the course, although he is known to throw a few bucks at the end of a good round. He is not allowed to be ridden by beginners due to risk of ruining him. You must prove your skills on another horse before you are allowed to compete with him. Sailor must have his Smart Pak in his PM feed, and his legs must be rubbed in liniment after being jumped.
Gender: Gelding
Discipline/s: Show Jumping
Stall: 35
Barn Name: Chacha
Show Name: Little Latin Dancer
Breed: British Warmblood
Age: 4
Color: Chestnut
Markings: None.
Height: 15.1
Personality: Chacha is very fiery and hot-headed. She is also very aware of her rider. You must be cautious when riding her, as she tends to buck when she gets upset. If you can sit a buck and keep a level head then she does extremely well. Despite her size she can easily jump 3’ courses. This mare is perfect for riders who are looking for a challenge. She must be with another mare buddy, preferably a calm one, while out in the field or else she will hurt herself and damage the fencing.
Gender: Mare
Discipline/s: Show Jumping
Stall: 41
Barn Name: Mikey
Show Name: Mister Right
Breed: Dutch Warmblood
Age: 19
Color: Chestnut
Markings: 4 stocking, blaze
Height: 17.0hh
Personality: Mikey is the perfect hunter. He is very dependable and his striding is always exactly as it should be. Mike has a steady, rhythmic canter, which makes him easy to learn on. He is very fancy and has immaculate form over jumps. He is a been there, done that type of guy and he is not afraid of any flowers or gates that are commonly seen in the hunter ring. Many kids have one medal classes and earned blue ribbons in the hunter ring with Mikey, and even at 19 he is still plenty fit enough to keep on winning.
Gender: Gelding
Discipline/s: Hunter
Stall: 42
Barn Name: Benny
Show Name: Flash Back
Breed: Hanoverian
Age: 6
Color: Bay
Markings: Star
Height: 16.1hh
Personality: Benny is very high spirited, and is only to be ridden by older, more experienced riders. He flies around the jump course, tail and head held high, racing to every jump. He’s really good in jump offs, but he doesn’t usually win because of his tendency to pull rails. He needs someone who can rock him back and slow him down in order to do a clean course. Benny does slow down in lessons, and is not as naughty and obnoxious in his stall like most stallions are.
Gender: Stallion
Discipline/s: Show Jumping
Stall: 44
Barn Name: Maggie
Show Name: Jumping to Conclusions
Breed: Irish Draught
Age: 6
Color: Dappled Grey
Markings: None.
Height: 16.3hh
Personality: Maggie has a lot of power in her hind end, and is an amazing cross country horse. She can gallop a majority of the course, and she jumps well over the fences. Unfortunately, this extra power means an extra quick escape when she doesn’t want to jump a fence. Maggie gets many faults in the show jumping ring because she is not very fond of the brightly decorated fences. She is really good on all day trail rides and endurance riding as well.
Gender: Mare
Discipline/s: Cross Country, Long Distance Events
Stall: 56
Barn Name: Rush
Show Name: Champagne Rush
Breed: Andalusian
Age: 10
Color: Grey (White)
Markings: None
Height: 16.2
Personality: Rush was purchased from a breeder who had bred him for use in the Spanish Riding School, but he didn't quite make the cut. He was originally trained to be ridden bareback with a neck rope, and thus is very tractable. He is training at Second Level dressage at the moment and shows excellent potential to go much farther.
Gender: Stallion
Discipline/s: Dressage
Stall: 43
Barn Name: Lisa
Show Name: Fur Elise
Breed: Friesian
Age: 9
Color: Black
Markings: None.
Height: 16.1
Personality: Lisa is a rare specimen. She has a very laid-back personality and will do anything for her rider (and a treat). She is the daughter of one of the world's most prolific Friesian stallions, and inherited his excellent grace and fluid movement. She was trained as a dressage horse and is currently schooling third level.
Gender: Mare
Discipline/s: Dressage
Stall: 46
Barn Name: Sensation (Sen)
Show Name: Sweet Sensations
Breed: Trakehner
Age: 14
Color: Dark Brown
Markings: Star, LH sock, RH coronet
Height: 16.1
Personality: A typical mare who works very well with only two or three riders. She lives for the jumps, but if she is having an off day or doesn't want to work, she'll let you know. She is very scopey and has amazing form over hurdles; Hope has gotten astronomical offers for her from fellow riders at shows, but she's going nowhere at the moment except over jumps. Be careful when picking her feet or currying her, she can get nippy.
Gender: Mare
Discipline/s: Show Jumping
Stall: 47
Barn Name: Rebel
Show Name: The Devil's Rebellion
Breed: Oldenburg
Age: 5 1/2
Color: Grey
Markings: None
Height: 15.3
Personality: Rebel's name fits him very well. He has been known to spook for no reason at all other than he's bored with what he's doing. He may only be ridden by very experienced riders because he is still slightly green and is sometimes slightly erratic. When his mind is on his work, however, he jumps his heart out and will go for days if you ask him. He requires an experienced handler, as he has not quite mastered the art of ground manners.
Gender: Stallion
Discipline/s: Show Jumping
Stall: 48
Barn Name: Moonie
Show Name: Moonstruck Topaz
Breed: Cleveland Bay
Age: 24
Color: Bay
Markings: None.
Height: 16.0hh
Personality: Moonie is bombproof and laid back, and despite his height he's very good for beginners. He can do novice and elementary level tests, and is great for first shows. Nothing fazes this guy. He will happily vary his pace (extention, collection) and he uses his body effectively, has clean transitions, bends around circles, leg yeilds and does flying changes easily despite his age.
Gender: Gelding
Discipline/s: Dressage
Stall: 16
