Jackie led the stallion into the stall carefully. She whisked around, filling the buckets with food and water and making sure the stall was clean and soft with lots of bedding. She smiled and rubbed his coat down until it had lost it's uncleanliness look. She looked satisfied and turned to Mattie and Micheal.
"Want to help me give him a real brushing? And also set him up with a date for the vet and farrier." She said, very quickly. "Any name suggestions?" Live Through Life... Tough Luck... Jinxed Heaven... Love or Hate... Random names went through Jackie's head.

Micheal followed Jackie into the barn behind the new horse, after she had parked her Tundra. The horse walked gingerly but steadily to the stall. The thought of another horse from the auction made her want to visit Paladin. He'd been stuck in his stall almost the whole time since he's not yet able to go outside. Although the southern crabgrass wouldn't pose a threat for sweet itch or founder, grass still may be too rich for his delicate stomach as of yet. She was snapped back to reality when Jackie asked a question. "I'll call the vet and farrier if you want to begin brushing him. What time would you like?" She was very tempted to brush Paladin while Jackie brushed her new horse. New horse, he did need a name. "Melior or maybe Durant?" , she offered.

((Argh, sorry I haven't posted. T-T;; I didn't know about this thread till like five seconds ago))
Mattie leaned against the opposite wall, her head tilted as she studied the stallion intently. Then she smiled softly. "I'll help," she offered, and, quickly, picked up a hoof pick from a nearby grooming bucket. She entered the stall a bit hesitantly and held out her hand so the stallion could sniff her. "A name? Hmm." She pursed her lips as she felt for a sugar cube in her pocket. "How about...." Mattie's fingers found the crinkly sweetness and she pulled it out. "Dare to Dream? All That Glitters? Broken Dreams? Umm..." She struggled to think of names that might represent the stallion's hardships. "Hope Against Hope?" Mattie realized she had been nibbling at the sugar absently and flushed, quickly dropping her hand and offering it to the stallion.

((Lol, that's ok! Also sorry I haven't been on lately. Message me if you want to know why.))
Jackie smiled. "I like Broken Dreams. I also like Tough Luck though." She said, laughing. She grabbed a curry comb and rubbed down the stallions coat with soothing circular motions. He stood perfectly still, but his ears were pinned flat against his skull. She shook her head grimly.
The stallions head went down to lip up the sugar cube hesitantly. He shook his head and tried to back up, but couldn't because of his halter and being tied up. His rump swiveled as he cocked his back leg in a threatening position.

“Either one’s pretty,” Mattie murmured, delighted by the whiskery feeling of the stallion’s mouth against her palm. She stepped back automatically when he began to fret, and murmured soothingly, nonsensical words, holding out her hand, palm up, her other hand fastened around the hoof pick. If she dropped it, and scared the horse…she didn’t want to think about how much harm it could do to the stallion—both mentally and physically, seeing how he was in no fit state.
“May I?” she added, directing her words to Jackie, not taking her eyes off of the stallion as she slowly took her hand with the hoof pick in it from behind her back, offering it to the stallion to sniff.

Micheal stood like a statue her eyes staring down into the horse's dark orbs. A steady stare lasted between them. She was waiting for the horse to do something, but that hadn't happened yet. She was sure her companions probably thought she had spaced out again but she had a valid reason. Come on now. The horse stomped his hoof on the ground with every impatience he could muster up. His solid countenance was surprising if he had been abused.
Cocking her head slightly, she looked harder into his eyes. The horse responded with a snort and finally looked away. Micheal, like being broken from a trance, snapped back into reality with a glance away to see what the other women were doing still unaware about what had been said. She moved from her statue like pose and relaxed her shoulders. "Any name you choose I'm sure he'll appreciate." She glanced back at the horse. He was sniffing the hoof pick Mattie had offered. "Would you like me to call the vet or farrier?" ,she asked, rubbing her hands down her pants.
OOC: That was pretty bad. x.x

Jackie nodded to Micheal and said "Sure, that would be great." To Mattie she said, "Sure."
Her eyes narrowed as he started to fret. She tried soothing him as his temper started to calm as soon as they had flared. He still had a wild look in his eyes. "His name is..." She thought out loud. "Born to be Strong.. I think.." She murmured absentmindedly and ran her hand down the horse's flank. "because he shows such strong spirit even though he's been hurt." She said, continuing.

"That's a wonderful name," Mattie replied, reaching down. She ran her fingers down the stallion's leg, and lifted up his leg, although it was a struggle. This time, at least, he didn't fidget...not much, anyway. The hoof pick was weilded deftly as she scraped out the worst of the muck, took out a round stone from his hoof, and slid it into her pocket - just so it didn't get lodged there again.

Micheal nodded and trotted off toward the phone.
After making the phone calls, she walked back to the grooming stall.
Not wanting to make the horse agitated she stood away. There was already too many people to handle at the moment one more wouldn't be wise. As the saying goes: "Two's company, three's a crowd." "I got the earliest appointments. Hope that's alright with you." ,she said, leaning against a wall as she continued to watch the horse. He seemed to calm down a bit but she could tell he was still agitated underneath as well as short burst of impatience. "Are you sure you got yourself into what you can handle?" Her eyebrows floated up. She wasn't one for knocking anyones horse habits but she seemed to be rushing a bit on a strange horse.

"I'm fine, Micheal. I'll be okay with him." She looked at Born to be Strong and tried to stay calm around her new horse, so as not to spook him.
She noticed that he started getting agitated and said, "I think, maybe, it would be better if only I were in the stall. He seems to be getting agitated and I don't want anyone to get hurt. She stopped and added. "You could stand outside the stall, just until he gets calmed?"
OoC; Sorry it's so short >.>

Micheal sighed and nodded absentmindedly. She took one last look at the horse and walked out of the stall, nodding a good-bye to both girls. She didn't have a good feeling about the horse and his new owner but still, she could be wrong. Stopping at the side of the barn, she rubbed her temples where a dull pain threatened a migraine. I have too many problems to worry about other people's problems. She shook her head to replace the unwanted thoughts.
Picking up her shoulders, she walked down the isle. The thud of her boots added a new level to her now growing head ache.
