Sophie climbed up the stairs slowly, her boots thudding against the wood. She didn't exactly know what she was doing with herself. Obli was already stabled and put away for the day. He'd been very ornery the whole time he was being moved. Maybe it was because he knew something new and exciting was going to take place.. or perhaps he was just being plain ornery. He would stamp a hoof, swish his tail, nip at the grooms, whinny to his horse pals.. anything and everything to get attention. Normally, he would be somber.. but today.. today of all days, he had to act up.
Moving had been difficult. Perhaps that was just Obli's way of coping with the situation. He needed attention.. security.. someone who was there for him to make sure he was okay.
Moving. It was the most difficult thing Sophie had ever done in her life. It seemed as if her whole world had been turned upside down. It wasn't like she had moved across the world, it was just to a different town, not even another state. But still.. she lost all her friends, neighbors, even her bedroom she had had her whole life.
She plopped down on a bale of hay and rested her chin in her hands. An auburn curly whisp of hair fluttered in her eyes. Her bandana was supposed to keep all her hair tied back, but that one curl refused to be "ordered around." It bounced and danced as a slight wind swept through the hayloft.
Sophie glanced around with her eyes, taking in the scene before her. It definitely was a nice place to be.. at least she had gotten her parents to let her come here. If that hadn't happened, she would've just died.
She sighed deeply. I guess I should go down and meet the rest of the world, she thought. She had no desire to. She wanted to stay up here all cooped up and forget she had ever moved.
