Amara led Gallant through the gate, then tied him loosely the a hitching post in the corner. Then she fastened the gate and headed off to the store room, dragging out fillers, and a set of rustic wings and poles. The course was set up already at 1 meter, so taking the fillers to the right fences, she lowered the fences to 2ft 6, befor setting up a 2ft cross pole out the rustics to warm up. Then Amara jogged over to Gallant, whistling under her breath, then pulling loose the quick-release tie. Then, tightening the girth, and righting the reins, she mounted easily and squeezed Gallant into a gentle trot to warm up, presently, she pushed quietly for a canter, and started to weave in and out of the jumps.

Micheal trotted out in the open nodding at Amara and opening the gate swiftly on Piecous. Piceous stood while she closed the gate. Since Pie was already warmed up she cantered around the outside of the arena.
She looked longingly at the jumps wishing above hoping that she could have taken them. Pie snorted nervously when she passed one. "Don't worry girl, your not ready for those." She stopped Piceous at the store room and tied her up tempted to let her just go without tieing her. Although she would have stood she didn't want to take the chance with another horse in the ring.
She quickly took out some calvelettis and set them in a pattern with a small 1 and a half foot fence at the end. After setting them up she untied Pie and mounted swiftly without stirrups. She went around the ring once or twice before she settled into a trot and took Pie over the pattern she had set up. The horse moved effortlessly and never missed a beat.

Amara smiled and waved, before trotting and cantering Gallant over the cross pole. His bouncy, energetic stride lenghtened and became more powered as he approached the jump, but his speed did not increase, Amara had trained him to be steady. Once she was happy that he was jumping nicely, she prepared to start on the course. Checking that Michael and Pie were ok - she called out she was planning to do the course after a lap of walking round the ring. Then she walked Gallant on a loose rein around the ring, keeping away from Pie who, whilst settled and happy, was nervous around other horses and tended to be aggresive. Then she gathered her reins and popped Gallant Charger into a smooth canter then started the course. First the red and white spread, down the straight into a black and yellow tri-bar with a small affair filler underneath......

Micheal smiled back, she wasn't one to wave at anything unless the situation called for it. All around the world went blank as she focused on herself and Pie. Her seat was almost perfect, the effect of excellent training and a lot of practice. Although Piceous was new to jumping Micheal was not. Before she had moved here she had competed in intermediate classes in many shows and had won often but Piceous had been imported from Germany and was only broke and trained in ground manners -minus manners with other horses mind you-. When she had received Pie she wanted to start jumping bu her father had enrolled her in dressage, much to her distress. She was just now starting to train Pie in jumping.
She nodded to Amara again after she explained what she was going to do then practiced maintaining Pie's gait over the calvelettis. Picecous did them willingly which made Micheal think that she enjoyed it as much as she did. Taking up a canter Piceous jumped over the tiny jump as Micheal savored the few seconds of airborne time, what she lived for.

Amara smiled then she shortened his stride for the first fence, and Gallant lept boldly over. He picked his ears and asked, begged to speed up. Amara smiled and let him out a small chink. His stride lengthened and suddenly Amara saw she was going to knock the pole, so she pushed for that little extra from Gallant, who responded by soaring over cleanly, even from a half-stride out of a ideal take-off. The third fence was round a curve. Amara twitched her right rein, and shifted her left leg alittle behind the girth, presenting her intentions. Gallant bounded happily toward the jump and bouced over. By the end of the course, Amara was smiled broadly and she had to ask afew times until he slowed, then she patted his neck and walked up slowly to Michael and Pie, who also looked like they were taking a rest. Approaching from the side and not getting closer than 2 horse widths.
Hows Pie going?

Pie's labored snort told Micheal that she wasn't happy about the situation but bore it. "As much as can be expected, I'd love to jump higher but I don't want to sour Piceous on jumping from being moved too quickly. But I'm afraid if I don't practice at the level I left off of I may have to teach myself all over again." She took a deep breath and exhaled sharply which made Pie chomp at the bit. "Easy girl.", She murmured to the restless horse. "Gallant looked great out there, and you weren't so bad yourself.", Her wink gave away her joke.
She cantered off to take the track again mumbling about perhaps asking Hope to ride one of the experienced jumpers.

Amara smiled and nodded understandedly. She'd taught Gallant to jump at five years, just simple 1ft-1ft 6 cavalletti. But he had already been jumping logs in his pasture, and ditches when he ran with his dam. Then she laughed at the joke, and was about to say something back when Michael veered Pie away. She shook her head, so slight that if you blinked, you;d have missed it. Michael justed seemed to be like that. Amara cupped a hand to her mouth and called across.
I'm charmed by your critisms. I'd love to see you jump!
The first remark was jokingly sarcastic, but the second was obviously truthful. Michael had a lovely seat.

She smiled devilishly back and took the small jump again. Piceous responded like a dream. She trotted up to Amara when Pie disapproved she forced her keeping a distance away still.
"Maybe you will." She replied in all seriousness. "I think I'll ask Hope about riding one of the more experienced jumping horses maybe I'll even show.", She gave a matter-of-fact look. "As for now I think I better go. I never want to tire Pie out with jumping yet or she'll get adversed to it." She turned off heading to the gate and opened in and walking out. She turned and waved after locking the gate and swung off Pie and walked her off, cooling her down.

Amara nodded. Then she held Gallant to his manners and good training as Pie came over. It wouldn't do to have him bite her, try to herd her ect, as it had before with another strange mare.
I do showing too. You'll have to tell me when you have a lesson, maybe we can share a lesson once he starts jumping 3ft consistently?
Gallant pranced and snatched at the bit. Amara shortened the reins, then used her hand to flick at his shoulder. He shied but then stood still. After he stood still for 10 seconds, Amara rewarded him. As Michael and Pie left, Amara waved then qucickly put the jumps up to 2 ft 9, sneaking 3 up to 3ft. Gallant soared over them all.
Michaels not dumb, leaving first. Means she doesn't have to put anything away! Amara thought, as she dragged the heavy jumps back into the storage room. Then she left, latched up the gate and went to put Gallant into his stall.
