"Alright then," said Daniel patting his stallions neck, shortening he reigns before asking him to canter. The stallion seemed to pick up on the situation and listened well to the directions he was given. For once he didn't take off, buck, or try to discard his rider in anyway, and Daniel was thankful for that.
A they came up on another fallen log Daniel steered the thoroughbred around it. The bay tossed his head in confusion finally breaking and letting out an angry buck. He wanted to jump, and he wanted to do it now. Daniel rubbed his neck oncemore trying to calm the thoroughbred down.
Sorry, this is total crap, but I just wanted to get something up.

Glow followed Dose, transitioning into a smooth canter, and Estee was able to rock into it easily. She was going to say something, but ended up forgetting, so she kept her mouth closed. She steered Glow around the log as well, but when she didn't use any leg, he couldn't quite get out of the way, causing him to hop over the side if the log with his front end. He cantered on.
Estee held onto his mane, providing extra support and tried to avoid slipping to much. Pulling herself back to center would require a large amount of step and twist in her hip, but she was glad his mane was long, not pulled yet for the hunter season.
Although her hip hurt, she stayed quiet. She'd already ruined the ride enough. She didn't need to screw it up even more by complaining and begging to turn around.

Being worried about Estee behind him Daniel began to notice more and more al the imperfections in the trail. This was saying something because he was a naturally unobservant person. So such an extent that he had actually walked into doors, and not glass ones either. It was actually quite pathetic, but thankfully he had Dose to look out for him.
As they came up to another stream Daniel brought Dose back to a walk, barely letting him walk forward. This stream was smaller, and extremely shallow. Keeping a firm contact with the stallions mouth he made sure that the stallion walked through it instead of jumping over it like he knew he wanted to. By some miracle, Dose seemed to understand the gravity of the situation, and pulling his head back from the reins and dropping it he took a sip of water before stepping into the middle of it and then onto the other side. Daniel could only hope that Glow would follow his example, after all, unlike a log, there was no way for them to go around the stream.
"Sure your alright?"

Seeing the next stream, smaller than the last, Estee wanted to push Glow over it, because he'd already been over a stream once Glow was the type of horse who would be willing to jump a jump or go through a gate, or in this case, hopefully, cross a stream stream after he'd already done it once.
When Dose had crossed and Daniel turned around, Estee nodded a "yes" at the question and clicked to Glow, asking for him to move forward. He stared at the stream, looking like he was going to walk through it, but popped over it. It wasn't a large jump, certainly smaller than the last, but when Estee didn't expect it, she slammed into the saddle on the landing, pain shot to her hip, feeling as though someone punched it.
With the pain, she bit her lip and buried her face in her hand onto Glow's neck. She allowed the tears to flow from her covered face, and she let out a small sob. Although it didn't happen often, it wasn't uncommon for her to be over-emotional, but she just couldn't help it. It hurt..

Oh, crap.
It appeared that maybe Estee had not been entirely truthful when she said she was alright. Of course she wasn't, that had been a pretty bad fall. It wasn't the worst, but not exactly pop back to your feet and everythings alright. He deduced that she was pertty brave for just hopping back on and continuing the trail instead of asking to turn back around an go home.
Clucking softly Daniel led Dose forward until the two of them were even. Patting the stallions neck for a moment to try and make sure that the stallion stayed still. As the bay lowered his head and began to munch on the grass Daniel didn't object.
"Do you want to turn around? That was a pretty nasty fall." he asked. It was one thing to get right back on your horse, it was another to continue down a trail in pain. Besides, there was a difference between the controlled environment of a ring, and the open one of the trail.

Estee looked up halfway, wiping her eyes, and nodding about turning around, unable to talk with her past crying. She dreaded the steams on the way back. She had no idea how to get Glow over then gently, as just about everything hurt currently, including pressing her heels down to gain a basic jumping position if he tried to jump again.
She tried to avoid eye contact with Daniel, at her current embarrassment, and she didn't even want to think about what her face looked like. The eyeliner was waterproof, but it still had the ability to smudge when rubbed.
She groaned, lightly tuning her gelding around and didn't brush her bangs out of her dark, streaky eyes.

With the streams on the way back Daniel wasn't sure how she would get over them. He would ask if she wanted to try riding Dose, but he doubted that would be much better. With a new rider on his back who knew what he would try to pull. Dan was sure she would be able to handle it usually, but it would not be much help now.
Seeing as they were right over a stream now, there wasn't exactly time to think this one over. He couldn't imagine being in the sam situation as her, and knew that it must really suck. Falling off horses was no fun, but into a stream? That just sucked. One reason he liked to keep Dose in rings, but trail riders were so much fun. They had to pick this one though didn't they.
Sliding off the thoroughbreds back Daniel grabbed onto Glow's reins and led him forward. Hopefully now he would walk through the stream as opposed to jumping over it. With one horse in each hand he walked forward stepping into the stream and waiting for the two to follow, they did. Success. Except now his boots were full of water...

"Thank you," she mumbled through a slight gasp, feeling ashamed of herself. She was acting like a stupid little girl and a stupid little pony. She couldn't get her own horse over a small stream on the trail and ashamed and embarrassed were the only two feelings currently popping up on her mind.
At this point, she was so thankful for Daniel coming, and wanted to get off and just scream and hug him for all he's done and put up with, but it wasn't really appropriate at this time. Ohmigawd, thank you. -dismount,ouch,hug- Can you help me get back onto my horse? Pft. That'd have been her.
But they continued on in a walk, following the dirt path through the woods. And what I would give to date this guy? she asked herself, daydreaming. But after her episode, it'd be a miracle is he'd even want to ride with her again. She bit her lip and steered Glow around the log he'd half jumped earlier.

As Estee and Glow both made it safely to the other side of the stream Daniel slipped his foot back into the stirrup and quickly swung his weight back into the saddle. With Dose's height putting him at almost seventeen hands high, this wasn't the complete easiest thing to do without a mounting block, but Daniel was pretty tall himself, and with all the practice that he had managed to do it with ease by now.
As Daniel guided Dose around to the side the stallion protested. He wanted to go over the log, but Daniel didn't want to excite the gelding and applying pressure to his side forced the stallion around the lock. Th bay gave a little buck and jerked his head around a bit, but continued along the trail without much protest.
As they reached the first stream they had gone over where the trouble had all begun Daniel slid out of the saddle leading the two horses forward once again. He thought that this would go just as well as it did the first time, he was, unfortuntely, wrong. Dose was getting bored, and when Dose got bored, Dose threw a fit. Walking, was not something that he enjoyed doing, he liked jumping, and he wanted to jump the stream like he had done before. Once Daniel made it to the middle of the stream Dose bolted foreword and took off at a full gallop pulling Daniel with him for a moment landing him right on his but in the middle of the stream as the bay took off without looking back.

When the bay took off, Glow's ear pricked and his head rose as he tried to bolt forward, but Estee growled at him to knock it off, and kept him halted in the middle of the stream, asking him to lower his head, allowing Daniel to pull himself up.She frowned at the boy, feeling really bad, but looked forward again, unable to see the stallion. She dragged her attention back to Daniel and watched his movements. At this point, she had no idea what to do. Riding double on the strong Dutch Warmblood under her was an option, but it'd be way too awkward. But she felt really bad about having him walk.
"Uh?" she bit her lip, running her fingers through her hair, now terrible looking after the fall and being thrown around. She wished she had a suggestion. Although she'd also strongly assumed the horse would not go all of the way back to the barn. The field ahead with knee high grass would be the perfect spot. Although it was still a while til they reached it.

Getting back to his feet Daniel looked forward at where his thoroughbred had disappeared letting out a low growl. Leading the warmblood forward the last few strides so he was standing out of the stream. Why did Dose enjoy doing things like this? It got really annoying. apparently no good did really did go unpunished.
Waiting there dumbly for a couple minutes Daniel figured that Dose would come back, he always did. The little rascal. Sure enough as a couple minutes went by Daniel could hear hoofbeats coming back towards them. Soon Dose came back into view sweat begining to drip down his side.
Grabbing the reins as the stallion ran by Daniel gave them a small jerk before remounting his horse and asking him to walk on. Wow, he had just made a complete fool of himself. Falling off a horse was one thing, falling over was a different one alltogether.

Estee was relieved when the stallion came back and Daniel was able to remount. She wasn't unhappy to see the break in the trees, turning into a large field, but her heart fell lightly, knowing the trail ride was over, and she'd made a complete fool of herself.
The horses trekked through the tall grass, in some places up to their chests. Glow tried to sneak a bit or two every so often, but Estee pulled his head up, scolding him for trying. Another frown formed on her face when the field stopped, and trimmed grass lead the way to the barn.
She halted Glow back at the barn parking lot and waiting a moment before figuring out how she'd dismount.

As they reached the large feeled Dose threw his head in the air and tried to bolt forward, but Daniel held him back, Unlike most horses, he had no interest in grass, he just wanted to run through it. As soon as they made it to they other side Daniel brought the stallion back to a halt and hopped off. Stroking the stallions neck he dropped it realizing that the ride was over.
Daniel reached over and grabbed the reins of the gelding to try and make it easier for Estee to get off. He knew that that would probably be even more painful then the ride, but it had to be done unless she wanted to stay on the back of her horse for the rest of her life.
To Daniel, that actually sounded like fun, but he knew that he couldn't do that, because it made absolutely no logical sense, and he was sure that Dose would get tired of the weight on his back.

Estee smiled at Daniel as he grabbed Glow's reins and cringed as she leaned forward, throwing her leg over the side of the saddle, slipping down, bending her knees early, trying to absorb the extra shock. She bit her lip at the feeling of her wet breeches, now getting hard and less flexible as they dried.
"Well," she said, "I guess I'll need to go untack him and put him away, as well as change." She wrinkled her nose at her uncomfortable breeches, now itching to get back into normal jeans and her loved sneakers.
She waited before saying goodbye, seeing is Daniel wanted to add anything before she went off with her gelding, now starting to get impatient.

Daniel pushed the bay's head away as he turned around and nipped him in the leg. He wasn't used to standing around, and to him the ride had not been particularly exciting. Pulling the reins over his head he got ready to lead the stallion back to the barn.
"Yeah, me too, but when your done want to maybe grab a bite to eat?" he didn't know about her, but the days events had left him hungry. It was a slightly awkward time to grab a meal, after lunch but before dinner. Personally, he hadn't eaten lunch, and he didn't know if she did.
Taking off his helmet he ran his fingers through his hair waiting for a reply.
sorry for the short crappyness, just wanted to get something up before you go.
