Easing herself back into a calm composure Seb settled back into the couch, picking up her mug and sipping lightly. ”Prim would be fine. She actually responds very well to the Parelli and the join up. Is there anything special you want me to teach her? What’s her future going to be? Jumper, dressage, school horse? Sorry for all the questions but they’ll help me decide what’s most important and what comes second.”

I'm hoping to focus her on eventing. Her body-type and legs would be perfect to carry her around. Hope smiled again. I'm also hoping to get her used to around-the-barn stuff.
Hope saw the filly scaring herself with umbrellas and dogs, taking off the other direction. She'd done it too many times.
"But with the correct training, she'd be great. I just haven't had the time I should with her. She's really a great horse, though."

”Very true, very true.” Seb thought about the training she’d need, the care. It wasn’t her responsibility for her care, only for her training and health, only going as far as not over working. The barn stuff was easy. She just needed desensitization. ”I think I’ll start each session with a short join up and work on her desensitization next. The eventing is easy. Do you want me to start her some free jumping? Small cavaletti’s and short poles to begin with, nothing she’ll actually have to make an effort to go over.” Dressage? Uh oh, Seb sucked at Dressage. Maybe she’d ask for someone’s help on a few things first. She’d consult with Hope or someone else, preferably Hope but she knew she was busy.

That would be awesome. And introducing her to the looks of jumps. Bright colored poles, liverpools, and some of the cross-country jumps.
Hope nodded, nut sure what else to talk about.
The door open and Hope turned around to view Jared coming in. "Hey," she greeted him quickly.
"Hi. I'm in and out. Just grabbing something to eat. I need to work the rest of the hunters." He started putting together a sandwich quickly before waving and heading out the door.
"Bye." Hope said after he shut the door behind him. Turning back to Seb she said, "I hate taking days off, laughing.

Seb nodded. Bright poles, flapping objects. It shouldn’t be too hard to bring something up for Prim to keep busy. Young horses are easily distracted though. Seb was going to have from with this new project. When Jared came through the door she watched him carefully but adverted her eyes back to Hope soon after. She’d seen him before, but never really talked to him. Sipping at her tea she smiled when Hope spoke of days off. Seb would love to have days off once in a while if she ever got a real job at like a store or a restaurant. That must be hectic.
”So I’ll start her off with my plan and see how she does. When I first worked with her she seemed to begin to know that she needed to respect her riders or leaders space. She’ll need a bit more practice on her manners though, she was getting a bit rough near the end.”

"Yes. She's quite bold and not afraid to get pushy. But with training and join-up, I'm sure she'll learn to respect you more."
Hope nodded and looked around the living room, back out the window before taking a sip of tea, now not scorching hot.
She wasn't sure what else to say. And sighed lightly in the silence.

”Bold indeed” Seb smiled. Prim was special all right. But she was still a natural foal. She’d need a lot of work to make her into that great eventer Hope wanted When Seb noticed the conversation had died she smiled a bit before speaking. ”Any other horses you want me to me to do ground work with? I’ve got time. After I work with Prim I’ll most likely train Twilight every two days, weekends off. I can probably fit a horse in every other hour. So that’s about an hours worth of work for each horse with an hour off to break or unexpected happenings. Expecting the fact that I’ll be here between nine AM and seven PM I can probably do about … five horses per day, four for the days I’m working Twilight.” Seb’s calculations might be off by a bit, she wasn’t a mathematician. But she was proud of herself. Five horses a day? That’s good for her.

"That's great!" Hope exclaimed, taking her last sip of tea. "I'm sure you'll do great."
Hope paused the conversation and looked toward her socked feet, then back up toward Seb. "Do you think you might be able to work with a problem pony I have?" Hope bit her lip, hating calling the pony a "problem" but there was really something wrong. "I'm not even sure what's wrong, but I've been trying to work with her, but she really seems to hate me." Hope remembered the pony's actions, confused by them. "She refuses almost all fences the first time, and cat jumps them after that, acting like she's afraid, but you can do anything you'd like around the fences and she jumps them fine on a lunge line. She even kicked me while I was putting her blanket on a few days ago." Hope stroked her breeches where the large bruise was. "I really don't know what's up, but she's really got to do something. I can't keep her if she's going to be unsafe around other humans, but I really want to help her."
Hope stopped there, willing to answer any questions, but wasn't sure she should keep explaining. She searched Seb's face for some sort of emotion, but it seemed calm like she knew what to do, and if she didn't, it looked like she did.

Seb smiled again as she finished her tea. But when Hope came to a problem it disappeared, becoming serious and concentrative. A problem pony? Well, technically there was no such thing as a problem pony, only a pony with problems. When Hope listed things that were happening Seb took a mental note of them. Kicking, refusing fences only when ridden. She thought it over, making possible solutions to various problems. ”I’d love to help. But I’d need access to her feed rations and what goes into them for calming herbs. She’ll need to not be used for at least a week so I can assess the situation and find possible reasons for her actions. She may have trust issues. It could be as simple as the fact that she doesn’t like what you’re wearing. It could be a lot of things. Is there any type of jump she consistently refuses? A color maybe? What’s the color of her blanket?” It was going to be hard but Seb was sure to find the reason for the pony’s actions. If not … well Seb knew she’d no longer be at Elysium and it saddened her.

Hope nodded, able to follow instructions. "The blanket was just a navy stable sheet." She remembered. "And she refuses almost all of the jumps." She frowned.
"But I trust your expertise and I'm sure you'll work something out." Hope grinned toward Seb offering to take her tea cup to the sink.

Listening intently Seb found no pattern between the blanket and the jumps. Since Hope said she would refuse almost all jumps she can’t tell if she had a fear of a certain type, height, or color. Handing her cup to Hope she followed her to the sink. ”How about we try to figure out what’s wrong. I’d like you to be with me for the first session so you can interact with her. Plus, it allows me to teach you a few of the tricks in join up.”

"Sure!" Hope went to the walk-in room to slide her boots on.
"Here we go," She left the house.
