Alli scanned the store fronts as she meandered through the mall. Not much was catching her eye, despite her need for new clothes. She spotted a Starbucks toward the edge of the food court and made her way over, brushing pasts large groups of teens and families with young children. She glanced up at the menu, despite already knowing what she wanted to order. Alli wasn't generally a coffee person, so she tended to stick with the exotic fruit flavored smoothies or the chocolate and vanilla frappe type drinks. She tapped her nearly non-existent nails on the counter as she waited for one of the workers to ask for her order. "May I help you, ma'am?" The woman asked, glancing up from scrubbing the metal counter top. "Uh, yes. I'd like a grande vanilla bean latte, no coffee please." Alli's words came quick, her nervousness becoming apparent. She hated ordering things unless they were horse related. That was her only true comfortable subject.
She sat down at one of the small tables while she waited for her drink to be served. Workers hustled and bustled behind the half-wall divider as the line slowly grew longer. This may take a while.

Amber walked into the coffee shop, half knowing what she wanted, she noticed only one other person sitting down. Everyone else was in line. She walked over to one of the counter's, and waited for the woman to notice her.
Can I help you? She asked. She seemed somewhat busy. Only doing who knows what with the register. She seemed to look at her twice, what with the way she looked. She had a lot of eyeliner on, eyeshadow, a gloss, and her striped skull shirt and skinny jeans with converse shoes. Her hair still had that blue tint to it.
Uh, yes. I'll have a mocha lotte, please. She walked over to one of the tables, which had another girl at it, debating if she should try to make friends. Well, now or never. If we're not friends, it's not like she'll see me again.
Uh, hey. Do you mind if I sit down? She glanced back over at the counter, the lady wasn't doing anything. She wouldn't leave a tip for her. Not if she'd take forever to get her her lotte. She waited for an answer, hoping the way she looked wouldn't affect the girl.

Alli glanced up at the other girl and took a moment to study her. "Go ahead, I don't mind a little company." She smiled, glancing back at the work area. It looked like there had been little progress on her vanilla bean. As Alli looked down, her gaze went from her own Adidas flip flops to the other girl's shoes. "Converse. Nice." Although Alli was not one for the emo/punk look, she appreciated a nice pair of shoes. She had several pairs of converse sneakers at home, along with her various flip flops and boots.
Suddenly remembering that she hadn't even bothered to say her name, Alli extended her arm for a handshake. "I'm Allison, by the way. And you are?" Sometimes general manners weren't Alli's strong point. She was awkward around new people, and too hot-headed with people that disagreed with her. She was, however, a strong friend.

She sat down and shook the Allison's hand. I'm Amber. Nice.. Flip flops. She smiled. Maybe she'd make a friend.
Are you from around here? She was somewhat shy. But not when she didn't really know the person. It usually depends. She wondered how long it would take for her lotte to come. She sighed. Well, it'd give her time to make at least one friend.

"Yeah, I live up the road from Elysium Stables. I board my horse there, and I'm one of the trainers. I'm there almost every day, probably more often than I'm at my house." Alli chuckled a little. The barn was her life. "I don't think I've seen you around here before, are you new?" She was not particularly active in school clubs and such, so Amber could've been living in town for quite some time without Alli's knowledge.
A petite waitress came scuttling over with Alli's vanilla bean and handed it to her. Alli handed her a five and politely told her to keep the change. The woman nodded thankfully and went back to the counter to pick up several more orders. Alli took a long sip of the creamy drink, enjoying its sweet flavor. Starbucks was always good to her.

Amber went to go get her lotte, and take a drink. She sat back down.
Yeah. I'm new. I just moved here, actually. I came to start over from my old life. I love horses, and I'd love to ride, but I don't own a horse. I applied for a riding horse and lessons. Now i'm waiting to see if I got accepted.
She looked over at Alli, she was just a little bit shorter than her, but she looked older. How old are you, anyways? I'm 16. What? She was curious.

Alli took a big sip of her drink, then placed it on the small cafe table. "I'm nineteen, just out of high school. I'm preparing to get my trainer's license, and then I'm off to college. Probably Findlay, it's such a nice school." She nodded her head and glanced around her. People rushed in and out of the mall doors, and others sat and relaxed like Alli and Amber. She enjoyed some relaxation, but she would much rather be riding or walking around town.
Feeling slightly awkward, Alli decided to try and restart the conversation. "What type of riding are you interested in?" This girl could possibly be Alli's new student. She may as well get to know her, right?

She, too took a drink of her coffee, and set it back down. She thought. Well.. I like showjumping. But before I do that, I'm going to have to learn to canter, trot, gallop, e.t.c.
She looked around. In the time she had been here, it had gotten a little more crowded, but not by much.
