Nodding as she said the diner sounded alright he parked the can and the two of them headed toward the diner. He probably should have parked closer, but there weren't all that many spaces in such a small town and the selection was somewhat limited.
"Two," he said to someone who obviously worked there and she led them to an empty table near the back of the Diner. The place was rather empty and as they sat down an awkward silence.
As they got the little i'm bladdah blah an I'll be your server, today are specials are... sermon Daniel just kind of spaced out opening the menu pretending to read it, but none of the letters seemed to making words as he was to busy trying to figure out the correct thing to say in this situation.

Estee looked up from the menu randomly striking up a conversation. "So, do you want any other tattoos or piercings?" She'd already noticed his tattoos. She didn't have any and wasn't sure if she did want any, but she definitely wanted more piercings. She'd share her opinions if he asked.
She looked back down to the menu, running a hand through her hair trying to remove the snarls and get it to lay flat. The wind screwed it up, and it frustrated her. She had no idea what she wanted, but would probably get something simple like a salad.

"Nah, think I'm covered," he said slipping out of his sweatshirt to reveal the two tattoo sleeves covering bot of his arms. Yes, he had considered getting a peircing at one point, but he didn't like the idea of poking a hole in his body, kind of strange coming from someone with ink embedded in both their arms. "You?"
As the server whose name he didn't care about came back to take his order he said, "Can I cesar salad?" one might think that it was odd that a seventeen year male was ordering a salad, but considering he didn't eat meat, he wasn't really left all that much of a choice. He also asked for a water, because it was all he ever drank.

She looked up again as he responded, and nodded. When he asked her, her pointer and middle fingers moved up to her face, landing below her lower lip. "Debating on a snakebite," then moving them up on either side of the edge of her eyebrow, one above it and one below. "And I think a curved barbell would be awesome." She shrugged, moving her hand back down to her lap.
It was hard for her to decide things like that because she didn't have a parent to oppose. She could do whatever she liked and no one seemed to care. She was pretty sure she was all set on tattoos, "Although I was planning on doing something with my hair," she smiled, having an awkward craving for pink or purple streaks in her hair.
When the waitress came back, Estee listened to Daniel's order and decided the water and caesar salad sounded great. "I'll have the same," she added. She called herself a vegetarian, although she ate meat if she had to. If there were no other options, she could eat it, but if there was a different choice, she'd certainly accept. And not drinking soda limited drink options drastically.

"So, umm," he said running a hand through his hair again. This was usually followed by something, but apparently not now. Because Daniel's mind was blank. Jeez, he had some serious issues when it came to having conversations...well, not really, because in order to have issues with omething you had to actually do it.
As the waitress returned with their salads he picked up his fork and began to eat. He wasn't a huge fan of salads, but he loved animals way to much to eat them. he had started off just not eating beef, because cows were considered relitively close relatives of the horse, and even if he knew that wasn't totally true, that stopped him from eating it all together. Slowly, he began to eat less and less meat. Technically, he wasn't actually a vegetarian because he still ate seafood, he just wasn't a huge fan of it.

Estee put her hands into her lap, and sat back against the back of the booth. It wasn't very comfortable, but she really didn't know what else to say, so they sat in silence. Estee placed her hands on the table, looking down at her wrists, playing with the wrist garb of hemps, beads, and knots. There was most likely way too many things, but they've also covered up past scars, which she, personally, kind of liked to look at, but got her in trouble a lot around school.
The food was a relief, distracting them from the silence. She picked up her fork, stabbing a lettuce leaf. She folded and stabbed it a few times, shrinking it enough to fit into her mouth. Her chewing was slow. Eating was awkward. She didn't want to look like the food was gross and she didn't want to eat it, which was not how she felt because it was fine, but she didn't want to inhale the dinner either, looking like a hog.
She lightly bit her tongue between bites, mad at herself for forgetting all of the conversations she'd thought up in the car. And they were left in that normal crazily awkward silence. Still.

*coughdemondoesn'thinktheyshouldgotocouncilingtogetherorsomethingofthesortoranything*
Brown eyes inspected his food as the owner of the pair paused, fork in midair, trying to think of something to say. Anything would be better then this silence. Okay, maybe not anything because Daniel had said some pretty stupid things in his relatively short life.
One that he had thought of ending, he thought as he slid the thick leather strap back and forth around his wrist trying to think for a moment. Sure, his watch told him the time, but it served or more practical reason, covering his wrist. Sure, one might think that time was more important. But not to this paticular teen. He was know for living in his own fantasy world, in which, time was not of importance.
sorry for crappiness, I just wanted to get something up, and I got to go be tortured for an hour in therapy. If you get on before I get back I should be back around 5:30ish.

Horses? Nah. Already rode all day. Music? Nope. I get very protective of music. Family? Never ever. Her brown eyes gazed up toward Daniel. He looked like he wanted to say something, but nothing was coming out. Just how Estee felt. God this is going well. Her teeth met back up with her lip, clueless on what else to say.
Oh my gosh. Art? "Are you artistic or into art?" That was about how far the conversation was going. Yeah. Art is, was, and will be life. Estee lived for art. To be able to draw, paint, photograph? Oh yes.
There was only a bit of salad left, as the plates weren't very large to start with, but she pushed a crouton around trying to think of future conversations. There has to be something...

Pushing the remaining salad around with his fork around his plate he tried to think of something to say, but he kept coming up empty. He never knew what to say, but up until now it had never really been that much of a problem before. But now he was regretting to never have tried to learn more about how one might have a simple conversation. He had to bite his tongue to stop himself from letting out a sigh of releif when she spoke.
"I like to write, but other then that doodles when I get writers block is as far a it goes," he said. he wasn't all that much of an artist, but it wasn't that he absolutely couldn't draw either. He was just kind of average, though he did pride himself in being a pretty talented writer.

Estee smiled and nodded at Daniel when he answered, enjoying writing as well. "I like writing. Need to be on the mood and even then I'm not great, but you should come over for a bit later tonight and I can show you my drawings."
Estee wasn't at all modest about her drawings; she wasn't sure that was bad thing or not, but her art talent was one of the only things, other than Glow, that she took much pride in in her life. At this point, she didn't really care.
She attempted to stab a crouton, but it shattered, crumbling over the plate. She still placed that larger piece in her mouth, chewing it slowly, ready to die in the new length of awkward silence.

"Alright," he said finishing off the last of his salad. As he finished his meal he went back to fideling with his watch for something to do. Daniel knew what she meant about the mood, if he didn't have muse he was crap, but he was a realitively good writer when he had the inspiration. He loved to sit outside under a tree and write. He never did anything with it, it jsut kind of sat in his notebook getting wrinkled.
As they both finished off their meals the server came back with the check and Daniel paid for both of their salads. As she left he ran his hand through his hair again he gt to his feet and waited for Estee. He wasn't exactly sure where to go from here. Maybe they could go get some ice cream or something. He wasn't really a fan of icecream, but maybe she liked it, he really had no idea.

When exiting the diner, Estee plunged into the darkness, behind Daniel moving beside him once they were out the door. The air was warm, but the perpetual breeze chilled her, fluttering her bangs upward in the cool air currents. She mentally smacked herself for forgetting her jacket... although she didn't even think she owned one, but she tried to hide her shivers, pulling her sweatshirt sleeves over her hands, pressing her fingertips into her palm, trying to keep the sleeve down. She stared at the sidewalk, illuminated by streetlights above them. Her sneakers were quiet against the black tar, and Daniel's too, still feeling an awkward presence, and yet it wasn't uncomfortable. Not too much, anyways.
Her fingers craved to wrap around his, holding his hand and seeming to magically warm her body. God I'm weird. Yet, her arms cling to her side, figuring he'd make the first move if he was at all interested. Maybe he decided he didn't like her, thrilled to go home and finally have her stop annoying him. Or maybe he wanted to get to know her better. Like she did him. To actually 'go out'. 'Date'.
Speaking of this... she bit her lip. Was tonight a date? Or. Was it just a 'I'm hungry. You're here. Want to come?" She didn't look up, beginning to question tonight. Oh well... Even though the silences were really awkward, she'd enjoyed going out and spending the time with Daniel. He seemed nice enough, and even if not, he was absolutely amazing looking.
A hug would be amazing also... she thought to herself, assuming a kiss was out of the question. He didn't act like he was really interested in her, and her heart sunk farther, but she'd figured she'd get over it soon enough.
She wasn't sure if they were heading back to the car, or going somewhere else, but she followed somewhat cautiously, unable to hide her light shivers.

As they left the diner Daniel's eyes began to inspect the leather of his riding boots. he hadn't changed them as he didn't carry around an extra pair of shoes. The leather seemed to be losing its bond with itself and the show seemed to be falling apart, but he didn't want to get another pair. It wasn't like he did any showing either.
As they walked down the road Daniel felt the urge to do something, he just wasn't sure what that was. He had never been on a date before, but was this even a date? He had no idea. None at all. Well, technically, a date was just a time, so then it was, but that wasn't exactly what he was talking about. So instead he just stuck his hands in his sweatshirt pocket.
As they reached his car once more he opened the door for it holding it for her to get in before closing it behind her and then got into the drivers seat and turning the key before backing out of his spot and moving along the road.
"So, uh, where do you, er, live?" he asked. Jeez, what the hell was he supposed to do now? He figured that he'd drop her off at her house.

"Hope's house," she swallowed, feeling sad the 'date' was over. But remembered she'd asked him to look at her art. Oh boy. Another few moments with him, she joyed, not wanting to leave yet for the night.
The time tonight was really short. And it made her sad. The car clock said it was only 6. They'd eaten at an awkward lunch/dinner time. And yet, home they went. With nothing else to do. And then I'll have an 17 year old guy in my room. But no way. She'd easily pictured her older friends taking their girlfriends off. While they were in control of the car. And taking control of them. Estee'd never been in that position, and wasn't complaining at all. Although she'd never even kissed a guy. *cough* Oh yeah. That's just how great I am. Although she somehow trusted a guy she'd just met. Yesterday. To take her home safely. Awkward.
Oh god, please say something, she begged, wanting to talk but she had nothing to say. She rubbed her fingers over her black nail polish on her thumb nail.

Daniel was easily able to navigate his way back to the stables in the dark. Even if he had only just started riding there. he had already driven there enough times. He wasn't necessarily the best driver in the world. Lets just say he was better on horse back. He had always been known to be rather reckless, so this transferred into his ability to drive. Sure, he was able to get around safely, but not without driving about twenty miles above the speed limit. He had always had a bit of a need for speed. It might have something to do with why he and Dose got along so well.
Pulling up in front of what he assumed was Hope's house. Turning the key the motor stopped and Daniel stepped out of the car and walked around to get the door for Estee. He wanted to say something, but he didn't know what so he began walking towards the door of Hope's house without breaking the silence.
