Hope looked towards Micheal and back to the ring as number ninety-nine came out, walking slowly.
The auctioneer started the boney horse at one-hundred dollars and Hope smirked when no one raised there paddle. "Hold on a moment," she told Micheal as the auctioneer continued lowering the price.
Once at fifty, Hope raised her paddle and the auctioneer pointed to her. "I have 50, 50. Anyone higher than 50?" He suggested enthusiastically. "SOLD." He yelled into the microphone.
Hope turned to Micheal and hugged her, running down the steps on the aisle between row of chairs almost tripping more than once.
She ran to the barn, Micheal following her to see the horse. She'd wanted to go back all day, but held herself back while trying out the other horses.
"It's over!" She told Micheal, seizing her another joyful hug.

Micheal's eyes misted with tears as she ran down with Hope after hugging her back. People around her stared at her thinking they both were crazy but Micheal didn't care.
Micheal grasped the halter from the seller and waited while Hope tried out the other horses. She wanted to slowly move the horse back to that trailer to spare his body any more pain. He nuzzled the back of her shoulder. She waited by the trailer for Hope wanting to put #99 in last.

Hope wrapped each of the horse's legs and put the buckskin in first, the grey second, the pony in the third section, and the tobiano buckskin in last. Hope closed the door and left the windows on the side down for ventilation, but leaving the screens up, not allowing the horses to poke their heads out.
Hope got in the driver's seat. She buckled up and started the truck, heading away from the auction house.
They drove for a while. It was fairly quiet with a bit of small talk on the ride. Hope slowed and took a right turn.
"I need some food." She pulled into a McDonald's, pulling in to the far back parking lot large enough for large delivery trucks, fitting the trailer easily.
Hope hopped out, heading toward the trailer putting the screens down allowing the horses to stick their heads out.
"What would you like?" Hope asked Micheal hoping to get in and out of the restaurant quickly.
She nodded quickly, running inside, leaving Micheal to watch the horses in the trailer.

Micheal resisted the temptation to stick her hand in the window. What a trailer full of prize horses. It was a great turnout. She sighed as she heard the horses each sniffing their surroundings. When Hope returned with the food she almost inhaled the burger she ate it so fast. She wanted to get the horses into their new home and especially take care of the horse that needed it most.
Climbing into the truck she watched Hope pull out. "I may have to make a run to the feed store to get some supplies for.. the.. horse." She frowned. "He really needs a name, as for the others." She bit her lip trying to discern if he would be better outside or in a stall. She looked at the sky as the dark clouds started to form. She shrugged, besides the grass would be too rich for his stomach at the moment. He would need a bit of hay and some bran mash. She wished she could get the farrier out tonight but that wasn't likely. "If you don't mind... I'd... really like to pay for his upkeep and vet bills. I mean you paid for him and the other horses already it wouldn't be fair that you had to pay for him for me to ride him." She wasn't sure if she was making any sense but she hoped she was.

Hope jogged back to the trailer with the food. She closed the screens and got into the truck, inhaling her burger and snaking on a fry at a time while she drove.
"I can stop at Farmway. I think Dover's a bit expensive for what we need right now, but I'll need to pick up some halters and blankets for the new horses anyway." Hope had a bunch of spare halters and blankets at home, but for some reason felt she needed to pick up new equipment.
Hope, a bit shocked at the comment, looked toward Micheal, still keeping her eyes on the road. She nodded, understanding, used to paying for horses without thinking of it. "If you'd like," she added, pulling into the Farmway parking lot.

Micheal smiled and nodded. "Thank you." She started creating a list in her head on what she needed to do. Wormer, stuff for the bran mash, farrier, vet and he could use a tooth rasping. Also he will need a halter and a rug but I think I'll leave the saddle until he is at a healthy weight. "Do you think we should wait until we get the horses settled until we go?"

OOC:: -crosses out last post-
Hope pulled into the farm yard and shifted into park as she hopped out of the door and was eager to get the horses settled.
Hope swung open the door and unclipped the stallion, giving him to Micheal. "All of the stalls are empty but you can put him on the..." She counted... "Eleventh stall left aisle right side."
She took the pony and bedded him in another stall. And went back for the other two.

Micheal walked the horse in the stall that Hope had said was empty. Sure enough it was. She spread some bedding down and filled the water bucket and watched as the parched horse drank making sure he didn't choke from sucking too much in. Then she latched the door and went to help Hope with the other horses.
Putting away the buckskin she also furnished his stall with the usual and helped Hope unhitch the trailer after locking the doors and sweeping it out.
At last she jumped into the car waiting to go to the feed store.
OOC: Short and fast. Next post at the feed store?

Hope hopped into the now unhitched truck.
"Off to Farmway." She smiled to Micheal and discussed a shopping list. "Well, let's see. Halters. He'll need a few extra blankets on the chillier nights. At least for now. I have bran and beet pulp at home. I'll grab a few extra supplements. I'm running out of some anyway, so I'll look for something that will be good for him. What else will he need?"
Hope worried more about the stallion as the others were easier to deal with and would require simpler needs like most horses.

"Wormer and I'll call the vet and the farrier tomorrow to set up an appointment. That is unless you don't already have a barn visit appointment set. Does your vet do rasping?" Micheal was the most talkative she'd ever been for a while. She couldn't wait to go shopping but she also wanted to be back at the stables now to take care of.. the horse. He really needed a name. She wiped some dirt from her forehead and rubbed it while thinking of a name. Perhaps she should wait until he was better to see what his personality would be all she knew was that he was a warrior for putting up with the abuse. Maybe a name of an Celtic god of war? She tousled ideas around in her head.

"Butch the farrier will be out on Monday. Since today's Saturday, he'll be out in two days. Dr. Cote I can try to get by Monday. Possibly tomorrow if he's free. And the dentist, Nate, is going to be out at the end of the month, but I'll see if he's free by Monday also."
Hope nodded, wishing it were already Monday. "Here we are." She turned right, into the large parking lot at jumped out of the truck in excitement.
